With the development of the embedded platform, the Embedded Technology is applied to more and more application fields. This paper implements a decision supporting system of Police. It based on the Embedded Linux operation system, intercommunicated through GPRS.The C/S-based system implements querying the real time monitor data from the server through GPRS, and firing an alarm in need. The central server can set up various kinds of information, define the site type, data type and display it as required, etc. Client station can show a map, monitor-sites and their real time data according to the user's demand.The client application, programmed by the C++ language, uses the Qt library which is a cross-platform C++ GUI application framework, and complied by the ARM cross complier, running on the Liod embedded platform based on Intel pxa270 processor.The client system includes three major parts. The first is the simple GIS which adopts MVC architecture, and is divided into data model (Model), view (View), and controller (Controller). The second is the peripheral data-acquiring which includes the local data buffer operation module, the communication of the network, the upgrading and managing module. The last one is the auxiliary function part, which includes the configuration, the bits operator, the coordinate transformer, etc.The prototype has been implemented and tested on the Liod-platform, and it can be applied to other fields.
