Petroleum production systems in the development of national economy has an extremely important position, it relates the lifeblood of the country’s economic development. Since most oil wells are widely distributed and poor environment, the traditional manual inspection methods on detection of the oil wells were intensive-labor and monitoring data is not timely and other difficult issues. With the development of wireless communication technology and information technology, more and more wireless monitoring system to monitor the oil wells’condition parameters.Wireless remote monitoring system’s is on the basis of wireless communications technology and information processing technologies, it provides for the remote monitoring site great convenience. The emergence and maturation of GPRS technology provides a new wireless data transmission for wireless monitoring system and its reliability has made an important guarantee. It has enlarged the transmission distance and speed in wireless transmission system, which were the shortcomings of wireless transmission system in the past. Now, GPRS technology can provide cross-boundary, high-speed, large capacity, high real-time data transmission services. The system based on ARM9architecture S3C2410X processor and embedded Linux operating system as the core built a front-end well RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) which by use of the mature GPRS technology as a means of communication to achieve the communication with the control center server to complete the monitoring data and control command transmission. In addition, it is achieved through dynamic domain name access mechanism to the host computer server system for remote communication. In this method, it addresses the traditional problem of the host server system must have a fixed IP address. On the server side, it is to display monitoring data and make management using web mode. In the foreground using Ajax technology to display monitoring data in real-time mode. And in the background, the whole software system based on open-source database MySQL and open-source software Struts2based on Java EE technology as the overall structure besides using a data middleware of Hibernate as the persistence layer which can achieve the security of the monitoring data storage and efficient retrieval. Finally, the paper on oil well monitoring system gives more complete system architecture, and on system improvement and development also gives some experimental suggestions.
