With the rapid development of computer technology and network technology, the 21st century has become a digital age driven by information technology. As an important component of modern scientific literacy, information literacy has become an important indicator in evaluating the quality of talents. As an indispensable part of information literacy"programming skills"has been paid more and more attention. Many universities and vocational schools have successively opened VB program design courses, in order to develop students'abilities to design programs.VB programming is a practical course. It has become the top priority in the programming teaching how to train students'programming skills more effectively in the teaching process, how to enhance students'abilities of analyzing problems, of using learned knowledge comprehensively to solve problems, of practicing and their pioneering spirit. Such course is currently mainly using the traditional transmission - receipt teaching model. This model can hardly make students integrate, use and innovate knowledge by the carriers of original knowledge. TBL aims to train students'abilities of analyzing and solving problems and their practical operational capabilities and awareness of innovation, so this approach is more in line with training objectives for students of program design courses.This study aimed to explore a suitable teaching method for training normal school students programming skills and this method should be also suitable for the age characteristics, learning needs and characteristics of VB programming courses; Explore the specific teaching process and implementation strategies through the "task's" driving to develop students'abilities of programming; Verify the feasibility of implementation of TBL in the normal school's program design course; and provide operational experience for the reform in normal schools'computer teaching; Meanwhile, this study verifies that TBL can stimulate students'interest in learning, can mobilize students'enthusiasm and initiative in participating in learning, and improve their abilities of analyzing problems comprehensively, abilities of solving problems and practical application. And the TBL's influence on improving students'programming skills is determined as the important content in this study.This study, in which we adopt the action research method, is to explore the implementation strategies of the TBL. And then to sum up the implementation strategy of the TBL in VB programming teaching. It includes both instructional design and classroom teaching process. Instructional design includes: analysis of teaching and teaching objectives, the choice and design of learning tasks, the design of learning environment and task implementations, the design of evaluation methods; classroom teaching process (teaching process is different according to different types of tasks), includes:â‘ the creation of situations, a clear mandate;â‘¡enlightening students'ideas, guidance and assistance;â‘¢self- study +coordination, finishing the tasks;â‘£assessment, communication, summary of task completion. Three different teaching plans are given according to the different types of tasks.In the course of implementing the specific experiment, this study used research methods of experimental teaching and measurement. The experiment was carried out in four classes of 2006 in the researcher's school , including two experimental classes and two controlled classes. TBL and the traditional teaching method were adopted separately over a period of four months (March 2010–July 2010). Before the experiment the experimental classes and controlled classes were tested (Appendix 1: Windows test questions; Appendix 2: Office questions), and the math scores of the former final test which was taken as a reference, showed little difference. At the end of the first round of action research, with the pre-designed questionnaire of students'interest in learning , we had a survey to the students'interest in learning ; After the whole action research process was finished , by giving a written examination and comparing the work , we compared the programming skills and comprehensive abilities of students from the experimental classes and controlled classes.In the end, the author made a conclusion on the basis of detailed analysis about TBL's influence on students'learning interest,programming skills and comprehensive abilities. It is: In Normal School's VB programming teaching adopting TBL in training students'programming skills is indeed feasible and can effectively improve the level of student programming; The use of TBL can effectively improve students'interest in learning, improve students'enthusiasm and initiative in participating in learning; We can really through different types of tasks: obscuration typeâ†'semi-open typeâ†'open type ,and their gradual transition, make students progressively realize the promotion of capabilities on the basis of leaning the basic knowledge; can reduce the students'psychological dependence, and is helpful to develop students'abilities of analyzing problems independently and abilities of integrating application of knowledge to solve practical problems, can effectively improve the level of information literacy of students.This study suggests that the following links'organization and strategy can make the TBL achieve better teaching effects in the training of students'programming skills:â‘ tasks should have some scalability;â‘¡create learning environment that can fully stimulate students interest in learning t;â‘¢create a learning atmosphere of mutual cooperation;â‘£have a scientific and effective evaluation mechanisms.
