Remote Application Sharing service is a core application in multimedia communication system, which related to some technologies in many domains such as image compression coding, efficient transmission and system dynamic control and so on. It makes the service complex to implement and hard to improve the performance that the service needs to dynamic control the image data and to deal with large amount of data.Considering the circumstance which the Remote Application Sharing be used in InstLink multimedia communication system, some basic principles and technologies about remote application sharing are first introduced in the paper. Then the JPEG2000 image compression standard is presented briefly. With the bedrock of deep analysis on source code of JPEG2000 codec——Kakadu system, especially the working mode of wavelet transform and block coding, and some analysis on code organizing and rate controlling, a policy deal with the subsequent data has been proposed. In order to realize data progression transmitted, some modifications are done on the standard coder and decoder according to the paper's need. As a result, the performance of Remote Application Sharing has been effectively improved,also the real-time character. Remote Application Sharing can be run further better on the Internet.The analysis and test are finally given to show the correctness and efficiency the paper does.
