Research Of JPEG2000 Codec And Its Application In Digital Movie

As the development of multimedia technique and more advanced need from the people,the movie industry has to be digitalized.However,the traditional JPEG standard can not meet the requirement of digital movie. So born the JPEG2000 technique. The new standard is based on wavelet transformation. It can achieve a higher compress rate while bear more advanced function,which fit digital movie perfectly. Digital movie with JPEG2000 is now developing rapidly , which proves how successful the JPEG2000 standard is.This paper investigates into the JPEG2000 technique and its application in ditial movie. It is composed of:(1) Research on the wavelet-based video compression theories. Discuss the applications of wavelet-based coding in video compression area, as well as discrete wavelet transform theories(2) Research on the details of JPEG2000 coding and decoding methods and put emphases on the implementations of core algorithms of them, which will be an academic foundation for latter implementations.(3) Implement a digital movie Codec System using VC++ programming. This system well embodies the core ideas of JPEG2000, such as the scalabilities, progressive coding methods, error-resistance capabilities and ROI performances.
