Design Of Area Target Echo Simulator Based On PCI Bus

As the Chinese Lunar Exploration Program is coming to the softlanding stage, this paper studies the key techniques of the lunar surface area target echo simulator. Emulation methods are used to simulate different environments in order to obtain the echo data. According to requirements, the targets echoes under all kinds of conditions are simulated to validate the algorithm robustness and the system stability. By using the lunar surface area target echo simulator to evaluate the system performance can not only economize research time but also save cost spending on research. Meanwhile, it also has significant meaning in system debugging, design and reform.This paper studies several parts based on PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) bus in the system design of the area target echo simulator. It mainly includes the interface design between high-speed memory board and PC, PCI driver program development as well as the communication between driver and application program interface. The DDK (Driver Development Kit) provided by Windows was used to develop the PCI bus driver program of this area target echo simulator system. This driver program successfully achieved DMA transfer between PC and high-capacity broadband memory board at high speed. Meanwhile, it also made the transfer process between end user and computer more efficiently and effectively via the user friendly interface.At the end of this paper, the system was debugged and validated. Testing result proved that the system well realized the function of echo data high speed store and real-time playback. This function successfully provides cogent technical means of verification for validating the performance of landing microwave sensor in terms of distance measurement and velocity measurement.
