Configuration control technology is a computer control technology. Computer systems using configuration technology widely use various general and mature I/O interface devices and field equipments besides industrial PC in hardware design, and needn't design specific circuits, which not only saves time of hardware development, but also improves the reliability of the industrial control systems. Software development cycle is considerably reduced due to using mature industrial control special configuration software in software design. Configuration software is in fact a tool software for industrial control development, and provides many universal tool modules for users, so users need not grasp too many programming language skills and can finish all the functionality of a complex project. At the same time, the system using configuration software has the same graphical interface as Windows, which is very convenient for production, organization and management.In this paper, automatic control system for gas production is designed using configuration control technology. The overall scheme is designed after survey gas production line. The computer gathers the data of temperature, pressure, flow and position in the present by A/D converter module and transfers the remote data through serial RS485. PLC finishes the collection and control of the switch parameter. The system includes alarm, trend curve and report. Trend curve and report can be used to analyze history data and alarm can be used to detect exceptional situation. In the emergency alarm, the system can turn off for protection.The test and running results indicate that the system can record the real-time monitoring data during the gas production and automatically transfer the data to the system through network. It has good interface and easy to operate. Monitoring and automatic control of the gas production system are realized.
