Photonic crystal fiber has a range of innovative features such as unlimited single-mode transmission characteristics, zero–dispersion wavelength, strong non-linear effect and low bending loss. Because of this more and more scientists and researchers pay attention to it. The application and theoretical analysis of photonic crystal fibers has produced a large number of results, however, its preparation technology is difficult to achieve a breakthrough.In the article, according to the existing optic fiber equipment and fiber preparation conditions, thinking of the convenience and practical, a automatically collecting wire system is designed that is fit to own conditions. The system used the Siemens S7-200 series of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) as the control core. After the transformation, it can achieve automatic control of the entire preparation process, free of the manpower from the complex process. The system can improve production efficiency, improve preparation of the environment. It can create better conditions for the fiber preparation.Two main problems are solved in the article. First of all, the action is to the fiber capillary. The manual operation changed to automatic control system named the automatic shearing, collecting and performing system for micro-structured optical fiber capillary based on PLC. When the fiber capillary come down form the wire drawing tower the photo electricity encoder begin to measure the length. When the length equal to the fixed, the PLC turn on the carbon dioxide laser, it can cut the fiber capillary. The fiber capillary that is cut down fall into the collector. Through replacement different shapes of collector can arrange fiber of different shapes. In the process, the length can be changed. The current length and the cutting frequency can be displayed. When the fiber capillary number achieve to the pre-calculated quantified, remove the collector. Through the mechanical vibration to achieve the automatic arrangement.Secondly is to winding the optical fiber automatically. The hardware control system and the winding mechanical device is designed. The analog collection module can receive the tension signal that is come from tension sensor. The PLC can manage and calculate the analogy signal. The analog signal come from analog collection hand down to the inverter. The inverter can control the speed of the motor. The speed of the winding motor runs after the tension diversification.Finally, the whole system design and simulation software for debugging, the system design is complete.
