In recent years, mobile Ad Hoc network develops well all over the world. Ad Hoc network is a multi-hop temporary autonomous communication system which is composed of a group of mobile termination with wireless transmitters. Because Ad Hoc network don't need fixed basic communication facility, have no center control node, flexible networking mode, these characters make Ad Hoc network having wide rage application. Ad Hoc network's routing protocols have been a very important research direction. This paper is based on research Ad Hoc network, mainly research Ad Hoc network's system architecture and network protocol stack's function, summarize Ad Hoc network two parts: table-driven routing protocol and on-demand routing protocol. We qualitative analysis and compare the working principle, algorithm flow, operation mechanism for the DSDV, DSR, AODV protocol. We make simulation for the three protocols, discussion the simulation results. In the same of network environment, the performance of DSR and AODV protocols is better than the DSDV protocol. The AODV and DSR have respectively merits and demerits, which is depended on different network environment. For the problems in the simulation of the AODV, the AODV protocol has to anew initiate the routing discovery process, wasting the finite network resources. We introduce the multi-path routing technology, give the operation mechanism of AOMDV protocol, discuss the limitation of the AOMDV protocol , propose the improvement scheme of the AOMDV-RD protocol with the path diversity. Because the AOMDV protocol only uses one primary path, have not making full use other paths. So, this paper has improved the original protocol, using multi-path parallel transmitting data, improving the performance. We redesign the data structure of the routing request packet RREQ, redesign the routing discovery process, compute the path set which have the minimum hops. At last, according to simulation results, we draw a conclusion that the improved protocol can increase the packet delivery fraction and decrease the end-to-end delay in the same of routing load.
