With the development of economy of our country and the constant improvement of the people's living standard, the output of the car is increasing and the competition is becoming furious. So the security, easiness, operational facility, and functional maturity of the car have become the focal points when users want to buy a car. The car manufacturers have set up most of domestic and overseas existing vehicle-carried mobile communication systems when cars leave factory, and the users seldom make the self-configuration. Furthermore it is expensive and the function is simplex or the operation is complex, which brings some inconvenience to the users. This thesis is based on the existing and mature GSM network platform, and we research and develop a set of practical multifunctional vehicle-carried mobile communication system which is not only a cellular telephone suitable for communication of driver, but also with functions, such as remote monitoring, automatic alarm, etc with the design of GSM chip correctly.Multifunctional vehicle-carried mobile communication terminal is a vehicle-carried system with convenient operation, practical function and prominent strongpoint. Comparing it with cellular telephone that people used, we can find advantage that the handfree function brings the convenience to communication; the design of automatically answering the call is more reasonable; the function of guarding against theft and alarm has improved the security of vehicle; the design of remote control can provide a more comfort environment to the driver. Certainly, this system possesses all ordinary functions of cellular telephone too, such as inquiring about calling record, SMS system, the ring setup, the phone code book, etc.Firstly, this thesis has analyzed the applied environment of the system, and introduced the framework and work mode of the GSM network. On this basis, we have put forward the designing requirement to the multi-functional vehicle-carried communication system and the blue print. Then it has discussed the hardware and software system designs that use 80C51 microcontroller as the control center. The design of hardware circuit includes the peripheral unit of GSM chip, the peripheral design of the liquid crystal, the keyboard unit design, the memory unit design, and the power unit circuit, etc. The program design is with the form of state, and its flow mainly consists of several subprogram modules, including: keyboard module, SIM card control module, LCD module, audio module, SMS module and urgent calling module, etc. Finally, wewill carry on the experiment to the important module of the whole system, and make it enter the GSM network to work. The experimental result has shown that this system can work normally and has reached the system design request.
