National Digital Television Terrestrial Boardcastiing Vehicle Carried Solution

As the Digital Television National Standard’debuted in August 18th, 2006, the wave of TV system conversion from analog to digital began to sweep. To keep up with the trend of media industry, my thesis is established to be the development of STB (Set top Box) for vehicle comforting to Terrestrial Digital Broadcasting National Standard is established.At the beginning of my paper, there is a introduction of the trend of international Digital TV development and internal situation. The next is a short account of the technologies involved in Terrestrial Digital Broadcasting National Standard. The developed STB system is consisted of hardware part and software part. And the software part is designed by another department while I am mainly responsible for the developing and debugging of hardware part which is the major content of the paper. It includes ICs selection, circuit decision, system debugging and evaluation. I describe the ICs selection at great length to highlight my design principle: comforting to the signal defined by the national stand. With the aim of receiving and processing the standard signal, the development must avoid design redundancy and reduce the cycle to take the lead in grasping the growth opportunities generated from the internal digital TV market.. The process of debugging is also expatiated in the paper, including the betterment of power supply system, assurance of I2C bus, assessment of frequency lock ability and etc. As the national technical stand of Digital TV has not been formally carried out, the sample is just evaluated by the target of the project but systematical requirement and stand. The last is the test result of sample including field test and lab simulation test.Generally speaking, the development processed smoothly without any unsolvable trouble in function. And the function of receiving of national standard digital TV signal is successfully realized except some performance still has margin to be improved such as frequency lock speed of tuner, shock absorbing design for vehicle and etc. More detail can be found in the body of paper.The end is the summary of the subject including the judgment of this design process, experience generalization, future progress in design work and etc. What must be point out is that this development is not a complete project development. So far as a product is concerned, this is just an advancing development in early stage and the forwarding betterment for the final product facing customers is mentioned at the bottom of paper.
