Development Of ERP System Oriented To Medium & Small Enterprises And Research On Its Key Technologies

Medium & small enterprises occupy an important position in our national economy. With our country entering WTO, our enterprises have to compete with many international powerful rivals. This is not only an opportunity, but also a challenge to our enterprises, especially to the medium & small ones. In order to enhance their competitive power, they have to improve their management conditions. ERP(Enterprise Resources Planning) stands for the most advanced management theories nowadays all around the world, which has crucial significance to elevate enterprises' management levels. But most present ERP software in the market are designed for big enterprises, which are too expensive for most medium & small enterprises to afford as well. Especially for some foreign ERP software does not fit "the situation of our country". Therefore, it is important to develop an ERP system for our medium & small enterprises to fit their need according to their own characteristics. Research and application of ERP system will be significant to boost our country's modernization and national economy development.The thesis first introduces the concept arrangement and the evolution process of ERP, and discusses its main management ideas. Then it studies the present situation and development trend of ERP software and implementation in our country and abroad. It particularly discusses the necessity and advantage for medium &small enterprises to implement the ERP system, and points out the problem that it lacks such applied systems.The thesis constructs the integration frame of the ERP system from point of internal integration and external integration, and points out that medium & small enterprises should attach great importance to the supply chain management. Then it constructs the logical and technical system structure according to the characteristics of medium & small enterprises. It also constructs the functional model of ERP system oriented to medium & small enterprises, and studies the integration pattern between ERP and some other systems.On the basis of the system model, the author individually develops an ERP system, METRC-ERP V1.0, which is oriented to medium &small enterprises. The system is developed in Windows operating system by using Visual C++ 6.0 as language tool and SQL Server as database system. The system includes some internalmanagement and external management modules. The internal management modules are planning management, purchasing management, marketing management, stock management, manufacturing management, finance management, human resource management and quality management modules. The external management modules are customer management and supplier management modules. The author also introduces the structure and the develop process of each modules in detail.The METRC-ERP system has several key support technologies. They are Client /Server and Browser/Server system structure, data model construction technology and ADO database accessing technology. And the article amply introduces the usage of these technologies during the process of system development.Jinan Jingyida Mould & Die Manufacture Co.Ltd is adopted as an example of the system, and its system information model has been founded. The METRC-ERP system is customized based on this corporation. Running of METRC-ERP system confirms that it is feasible, convenient and stable. It can be put into practice fast and successfully in medium & small enterprises to help them enhance their economic benefit and competitive power.
