| Style characteristic is a subject which focuses on the language. As one of the most important information sources, international news comments on People's Daily have their own advantages over forms of explaining international events. Therefore, the research on style characteristic of international news comments on People's Daily is practical and useful.This study is based on texts from 1949 to 2004 and also considers Chinese foreign policies while analysizing its style characteristic. Under three conditions, international news comments on People's Daily have three style characteristics: doctrinairism, criticism and objectivism. Moreover, analysis of style characteristic is aimed to improve China's national image in the world.
