With the great development of electric power and electron technology, the harm of harmonic become worse and worse in power system.The fact problem in power system is studied in this paper. Description the background and purpose of the research and general situation of domestic and foreign research of harmonic elimination technique in power system, which is given in the paper at first, principles and structures of Active Power Filters are analyzed and compared. Parallel Active Power Filter to be confirmed to design is good and useful; on the basis of instantaneous reactive power, analysis the theory of instantaneous reactive power detecting methods diversified schemes for harmonic is presented and the diagrams of implementation of all types are put forward, and choose p, q operation mode; on the basis of these projects, designed the hardware and software of Active Power Filter, and explained particular for parts of hardware, the diagrams are given together, the flowcharts of software are given too.Then simulation of designed project in SIMULINK environment of MATLAB software. Detecting harmonic and compensatory harmonic are simulated, and given the models of implementation, the designed Active Power Filter is accurate and applicability, parameters of device needed in the paper is modified.The experimental device employed high speed DSP chip TMS320LF2407A which is made by TI as core chip. And it employed high efficiency instruction to compile controlling programs to complete the whole controlling project. The Active Power Filter system can reduce the harm of harmonic is generated by non-linear load in the power network from the simulated result.The harmonic current detect methods in the paper have characteristic of real-time and accuracy. The Active Power Filter device based on the method has broad utilized future and practical value.
