Digital Forest Resource Management In Forestry Bureau

The forest resource is material base of forestry production; the information management of forest resource is a basic management of the forestry. In order to manage the forest resource better, it is necessary that we set up a forest resource management information system. The system includes processing, searching, analyzing, expressing of spatial information and attribute information. It can make all kinds of thematic maps quickly and currently, process spatial analyses, offer aid decision information for managing a policymaker in time. A perfect forest resource information management system will improve the modernized level of forest resource management.The object that we study is forest drawing and forest resource data of LangXiang forestry bureau and XiaoBai forestry farm. We realize the vector of the scan picture with the software R2V; Based on system software of geographical information, it is formed that the spatial database of forest resource through scan vector, figure editor, error correction, projecting; we use the key word field to connect class II forest resource attribute data with the spatial forest database; we use data of XiaoBai forestry to analyze distribute structure characteristic of the forest resource, create DEM model with contour line, on this basis of DEM, we can create the slope, aspect, hill shade model etc., with the data we analyze forest grow space environment.According to the methods of information science and system engineering, with programming language VisualBasic6.0, using based on ActiveX GIS package MapObjects, we set up forest resource information management system of LangXiang forestry bureau. The system realizes the visual management of forest resource; it can carry on the inquiry, editing count, making maps, spatial analysis of forest resource information, displaying many kinds data formats, updating attribute and graphic data at one time.This system is founded based on theory and characteristic of geographical information system, it changes the traditional forest resource information management mode, the system fully utilizes the historical materials of the forest resource data, improves the efficiency of the information management of forest reserves and engineering level and realizes the automation management on forest resource information, the data management was independence and static formerly, now the system can manage resource information with GIS characteristic synthetically, realize analysis of diversified forest reserves information and comprehensive utilization, the system has solved the actual need of forestry's bureau. It offers a platform to the forestry's information build and forest resource information management.
