Risk management is a very essential part in software project management. However, due to the lack of enough attention and understanding, risk management is neglected in many software projects. As a result, many software projects fail before accomplishment, excess the budget or become inferior quality.This dissertation firstly introduces the typical theory about risk management and the typical risk management models, based on which an advanced risk management model is proposed. The main problems in software risk management are pointed out. The limitations of existing management methods to handle these problems are analyzed, the method using BP neural network algorithms to analyze software risk is presented, and the synthetic models are individually given. This dissertation gives the design of the software risk management system and the detail design on risk analysis process, in which the neural network method is used to estimate the synthetic project risk.The synthetic project risk analysis method using BP neural network fetches up the shortage of traditional ones. This method makes synthetic risk quantitative analysis possible.This dissertation also discusses the problems that need further research and development in software risk management.
