Research On The Development And Utilization Of The Archives Information Resources

With the society transforming from the industry economy times to the knowledge economy times, information resources has become a kind of important economic resources. Archives is an important part of the information resources, whose significance has been recognized by many people. In face with the social informatization, to make efforts to develop archives information resources and provide its use with people has been set forth by lots of archives administration. Because of so many different reasons, nowadays there exist some problems in the work of the development and utilization of the archives information resources and with the function which can be given full play compared with the function which should be given full play, we still have a long way to go. So, in regard with the realities of our country, this article elaborates the related problems of the development and utilization of the archives information resources in detail and the author hopes that she can provide some reference with research of it. This article is divided into four parts:The first part discusses the connotation of the information resources and the archives information resources. Then it deeply states the characteristics of them. Before the archives administration develop the archives information resources and provide usage of it with people, we must know exactly the characteristics of them. Only in charge of the characteristics of them, the archives administration can take scientific measures, give full play the superiorities of archives information, remedy their inferiorities and make the economic and social benefits of the development and utilization of the archives information resources improved to a large extent.The second part states the necessity and principles of why we makeefforts to develop the archives information resources and provide use of it from the implication of the development and utilization of the archives information resources. There is a great deal of archives information resources and its content is plentiful. The development and utilization of the archives information resources is of great significance: the development and utilization of the archives information resources is a way to give full play its function and value; the economic construction needs to develop and utilize of the archives information resources; the information publication asks for the social needs of archives information which accelerate the process of the development and utilization of the archives information resources. Financial shortage is always a difficult problem in this work. At the same time, the traditional system of "attach importance to preservation, look down on usage" confines the freemobility of information and obstructs the development and utilization of the archives information resources. The quality of traditional archives workers can not keep up with the needs of the development and utilization of the archives information resources. The fourth part systematically states that only reasonably develop and scientifically utilize the archives information resources, can we make great social and economic benefits for the social development and progress. Under the knowledge economic conditions, people have different requirements for archives information. Only with the foundation of plentiful preservation and superior structure, the modern techniques and the high quality of the whole archives workers, can we deeply develop the archives information resources and provide the usage with society. At the same times, there are some new changes to the ways of the development and utilization of the archives information resources. From the standpoint of the development of the modern communication techniques and the multiple media techniques which present new characteristics, the new tendency of the development and utilization of the archives information resources is that historic and local characteristic exhibition, modern communication techniques, video and audio service, current files inquiry and utilization center and so on.
