On The New Developments And The Causes In Supervision By Public Opinion During The New Period In China

The year 1987 is a significant one in the history of supervision by public opinion in China because the notion of supervision by public opinion was advocated in the report of the 13th CCPC for the first time. Since then, there appear many new developments. This paper illustrates them in three ways: the diversity of subjects; the variety of forms; the variety of objects. It includes leaders, officials, public intellectuals and the public in the first one. It comes from government policy, theoretic research and press circles in the second part. The third one is about the objects, it includes issues of politics, economy, culture and state systems, etc.In the mean time, it analyzes the causes in an all-round way. There are many causes make it go forward, such as legal system, democratic life, reform and open policy, developing economy, technology brought to the media, competition and so on.Referring to the related works and papers and contrasting the present with the past, I try to make it clear the developments of supervision by public opinion during this new period to do my bit for theoretic circles and the practice.
