Research On Supervision By Public Opinion In China

With the continuous advancement of modern information technology, media changes with each passing day. The traditional media, such as newspapers, magazines, radio and television not only has to continue to consolidate the existing position, but also pay more attention to the rich content,targeted audience and continued expansion of sphere of influence. The emergence of new media represented by internet and mobile phones overcomes time and geographical boundary, while also supports traditional media to complete transmitting information. Its social impact can not be ignored. In June 2008, General Secretary Hu Jintao delivered an important speech about how to master the media to play the role of media and public opinion, when inspected the People's Daily. It showed once again that the Party Central Committee paid much more attention to the work of the news media. Therefore, the study of contemporary China's news media, have much more emphasis on the theoretical value and practical significance. The rapid development of media would bring about what kind of impact to China's supervision by public opinion, what's present situation of the work of China's supervision by public opinion in the current era, is there any problem and how to improve, are the main research subject of the paper. In this regard, this paper introduced the basic theory, sketched the development of supervision by public opinion in china, and assessed functions of supervision by public opinion in contemporary china, multi-level analyzed the problems and shortcomings, and then discussed how to improve and strengthen supervision by public opinion in china.
