Identification of Priend-or-Foe is the basic factor of victory in winning a battle in the past and in the future. Therefore it is important in the battle field to increase the probability of correct identification armaments. The secondary radar IFF (Identification of Friend-or-Foe) systems mainly consisting of interrogators and transponders, are used to identify the friend-or-foe attribute of the targets that are detected by the primary radar. The secondary radar systems also fulfill the task of identify some information of the friend target about the aviation altitude, the aviation distance and the aviation azimuth. Due to using the same work frequency and all-direct responding in the systems, there are a great deal of effects such as fruit garbling and capture, which will badly impose the right identification probability of the interrogators. Thus, it is needed to find out the means to effectively deduce these effects.According to the actuality of secondary radar system, this thesis devise a simulation for the secondary radar IFF, based on STAGE. Via the analysis of several results of simulations, find out some means to improve the identification probability.In this thesis, I have done such things as follows.(1) Analyzed the working principle of the primary radar systems and the secondary radar systems. Putting forward some important parameters in the simulation designing stage of the secondary radar systems.(2) Built up various simulation models for the simulation of the IFF systems.(3) Analyzed the simulation principle of the STAGE software, and then according to the needs of system simulation, expanding functions for STAGE by expanding DI, DE, SIM, scripts, and external communications.(4) Analyzing, designing and validating the working flows and the action script algorithms in the simulations for the system entities such as interrogator, the transponder, etc.(5) Do simulations with various conditions for the secondary radar systems.
