This paper is a part of the creative fund (450011022252) of Jilin University" The application research of three-dimensional visualization technology based on RS and GIS geology model in the Evolution of Geological", mainly study in the virtual reality technique apply to three-dimensional display in city scenery. The virtual reality technique has extensive purposes in the city scenery, It mostly can be divided to :The first, establish the virtual geography environment, make the professional scholar as the geologist in virtual geography environment, contact with virtual environment vivid and creationary, establish the information communion and alternation with each otherthe of valid information diagram and the person's sense of vision mutually , and carry on the knowledge excavation; The second, assist in the programming design, especially the city earth's surface sight display has more remarkable advantage; Not only can convert different scene real time according to the public need, but also can modify design program scene and attain the superior design rapidly;The third, release through the network, the earth's surface scene can be used for drumbeating and the popularzation education of sciences better; the fourth, In virtual city environment, carry on the urgent circumstance training, for the disaster prevention and handle the service ;The fifth, used for the the industry and agriculture design and construction service as industry construction, water conservancy exploitation etc. This thesis mainly discussed the following contents: summarize the basic conception of the virtual realistic technical ,domestic and international research develop state and meaning of the disquisition. Introduced the characteristic, function and structure of the virtual reality system. according to dipping into the dissimilarity of the degree, carry on the classification to the virtual reality system. Emphasized to study the the key technique of the virtual reality: modeling technique, texture mapping technique and virtual ramble technique. Combine GBR and IBR technique to set up 3D model, build up the foundation of the virtual earth's surface scene. GBR is the geometry rendering method based on computer graphics. IBR is the rendering based on image. Expatiate basic principle of the texture rendering technical , combining the actual circumstance of the select district ,choose corresponding mapping method, mapping corresponding texture. Introduced collision examination principle and methods, describe concepts such as the observer, walk mode, and the environment effect etc. Depend on the software platform VEGA, transfer the function of API, carry out homologous functions in the earth's surface scene. This paper study and carry out a kind of table's top class unimmersive virtual reality scene in the common PC .The scene based on Jilin University ChaoYang District and circumjacent region, complete the following research work: 1. Analyze and comparison lots of 3D modeling software, Base on the real-time 3D modeling software--Multigen Creator, synthesize the advantage of the else 3D software. Set up 3D modeling on the earth's surface. 2. Choose texture mapping method mip-map, mapping the processed texture to surfaces of the 3D model, make 3D model attain the result of" real world" effect. 3.
