In the1980s, Jaron Lanier first proposed the "virtual reality" VR (Virtual Reality)concept. In the following20years, virtual reality technology has gotten tremendousdevelopment and wide application. At the same time, computer network technologywas developing rapidly. This trend makes people began to explore the road of virtualreality technology development based on network conditions.Under this background, this paper studies the origins of virtual reality technology,domestic and international developments and future trends. In the virtual realitytechnology in-depth understanding, we focuses on the virtual reality technology in thedirection of human-computer interaction, and developed a desktop virtual sceneroaming system based on the previous work.In this paper, we strictly follow the software engineering theory in the systemdesign and development process, First of all, we research analysis the functionalrequirements of the system, and then divide the system into major functional modules,and each module has been designed and realized. In the modeling stage, we usehybrid modeling approach to realize3D modeling on this system, at the same timegive the mechanism of overall system model’s combination and performanceoptimization; in human-computer interaction stage, the use of VRML and JavaScriptevent system and control technology as the main technical route, to achieve a varietyof human-computer interaction.This issue focused on the human-computer interaction mechanism in virtualreality. And introduced the concept of roaming system, the realization of sceneauto-roaming, implemented the real-time acquisition of coordinate in virtual sceneand the interactive function of2D map and3D scene by writing JAVASCRIPTprograms.In the last article, what I have researched and system development experience inthe process are summarized, analyzed the system can be improved, the system for thefuture related work are discussed.
