Study On The Models And Development Strategies Of The Electronic Information Resources Integrated Management In Libraries

The issue of integrated management of electronic information resources that arose in the 1980s has become the most conspicuous academic research field. Libraries all over the world, information agencies and IT fields have made much bold practice and unremitting exploration, which promoted the research of the electronic information resources integrated management. The thesis which based on the concept, object, goal and principle, the constructing method and model of the electronic information resources integrated management has made thorough, systematic comparison, analysis and study on selections of integrated systems, integrated modes, unified searching function, user personalization service and user management function by investigating and analyzing the ten representative and characteristic libraries both home and abroad to deepen its research content, broaden its research scope and enrich its research methods. The scientific evaluation and accurate comprehension in current condition of our country electronic information resources integrated management are made by comparison analysis. According to these, the user need principle, the possibility principle, and target performance and effectiveness principle of the electronic information resources integrated management are constituted. The thesis also mentions the mode choices and development strategies which fit for our China library electronic information resources integrated management. The aspects are the medium small scaled libraries which are scarcity of electronic information resources can use the Resource Navigation integration and OPAC integration, instead of using complex electronic information resources integrated management system, few resourceful libraries which are abundant in fund, technique and electronic information resources can construct the integrated management systems that maintain independence and keep initiative by themselves and find individual developing road, most libraries which are not abundance but also have urgent requirement should select the model of the joint libraries integrated management system in certain area or the same business field to find the road of interlibrary cooperation through the unified and common user interface. At last, the thesis emphasizes to discuss the strategy of the joint integrated management in China from macroscopical view and points out some problems to be solved ulteriorly in implementing joint integrated management model.
