Research On Integrated Management Systems For Digital Information Resources

Along with the fast development of computer technology, network technology and information technology, libraries have become an important applying field of these technologies. Since late 1990s, the libraries' collections have had a crucial change. The collections made up of print resources changed to print resources and digital resources keeping both and the proportion of digital resources became more and more large. How to manage these digital resources effectly, provide users one stop services and respond to the challenge from commercial information service organizations such as google make the issue of digital resources integration be a hot and important study field of library and information science, which leads to the development of integrated management systems for digital information resources. The systems can integrate all digital information resource in a library seamlessly and transparently, including local and remote distributed digital resources with different structure on various platform, which can provide users single search interface, identity authentication and dynamical linking, present resources that derive from different repositories in unified form and offer the functions such as custom and personalization servces, etc.This paper begins with the theory study of digital information resources integration and then explains the general system structure, main funcations, federated searching technology and open linking of integrated management system for digital information resources.
