Research On Flood Information Service System Based On WebGIS

WebGIS is a bran-new technique synthesizing WWW technique and traditional Geographic Information System and has been becoming one of the most important developing aspects. The Flood Information Service System (FISS) based on WebGIS, as an important component of real-time flood control decision-making supporting system, is one of representative application cases in water field at present.The thesis gives a brief introduction to the WebGIS in the aspects of technique characteristics, system construction, main realizing methods, main developing trend and application situation in the world at present. It analyzes in detail the FISS' function demands, the characteristics and the data flows of the main function modules. The paper raises the design scheme of multi-layers B/S system structure for FISS. The realization of self-developing WebGIS platform based on Java and hydrograph drawing is specially descried in paper. The paper brings up the methods of spatial data organization and searching to optimize the system's functions. Finally, the thesis discusses initially the issues on FISS which are needed to study and resolve in future.
