Design Of Distributed Telecom Network Management System

The telecom network management system is very important to achieve the high-efficiency, credibility, cost-efficient and safety in the management of communication network.. With the progress of mobile communication technology, the scale and the complicity of network are greatly increased, and at the same time, the higher demands for the mobile communication system become critical in order to provide high-quality service and low operation cost. Especially with the Rapid Commercialization of 3G technologies, more and more network service provider and network product supplier attach importance to the development telecom network management system.The conventional telecom network management systems are based on the TMN. With the development of computer technology, especially the distributed technology, the distributed telecom network management system is promising in the near future. The distributed technology has the advantage of high credibility, scalability and expansibility, and the smooth and low-cost upgrade of telecom network management system can be easily realized. CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture), which integrates the object-oriented technology and the network communication technology, was standardized by OMG. This industry standard is used in the distributed circumstance to realize the re-use, replant and interoperability of object oriented software structure. Many research have done on the combination of TMN and CORBA, which is now of great maturity. In this paper, the design work is based on this technology.The information management model is the important module in the telecom network management system. This model describes the relationship between the actual network system and the management circumstance, and the object-oriented technology is applied. In the management system, the physical resource and the logical resource are abstracted to act as the management objects. The system is modeled by the XML, and then the model is mapped to CORBA/IDL to describe the management objects.For the network element management, the ultimate goal of the network management system is to realize the management and maintenance of network elements. In this management system, the configuration management, the fault management, the performance management and the security management are realized by the data exchanges among the network elements. So in the design of management system, the hierarchical structure is used to implement the system framework. The data of network element will be collected in the collection layer, and then in the process layer the data are analyzed, and in the end the operation for the objects and the display of results are implemented in the application layer.
