The Strategy For The CNN's World News Report

This cable TV transmits its programs, principally spot coverage of important world news through cables and satellites. CNN has become one of the most influential media organizations in the world through its 20 years' endeavor.On the communication models, CNN is the first to turn Today News Today into Now News Now, which has achieved true classified communication and group communication. Relying on its live global world news service, not only has CNN met the audience's demands of the latest news, brought about"CNN Effect"covering the press?political and business circles that has gradually become a common phenomenon, but it has also extended the range of communication theory.From my opinion, medium and upper class, the major audience of CNN, is the core of CNN's audience study. Producing world news from American benefit and value is the base of CNN's communication theory. Live world news service is the most important communication strategy of Primary Effect and Agenda Setting of CNN's world news report. Making decision by respective groups is an active ruse for CNN to avoid lawsuit and governmental interference effectively. Influencing the strategic decision of the world public opinion and party concerned is the aim of effect of communication for CNN, etc. The success of CNN has aroused global media organizations' drastic competition on winning audience. In this dissertation, I have made some research on the five news channels in Europe and US in 1990s that emulate CNN and compared them with CNN. Conclusion of the research: the core of CNN's news service is still the world news service on the content of communication; the audience of CNN's world news is still medium and upper class on the audience study; the Agenda-setting on CNN's world news is to insure an exclusive news report.It can be found from the research that the emergence and development of CNN does not only meet with the demand of audience, but it is also the major trend for the global press development. Besides it, the most important part of transmitting the American culture and value to the world is CNN's international information communication.
