The Analysis About The Image Of The Islamic World Formed By American Media

From the gulf war decades ago to recent Iraq war, the conflict has been deepened between the Islamic world and America. The American media have established a negative image of Islamic world as well. In appearance, such image seems to be the result of the indignation caused by 911 event. But after analysis, it's not difficult to find that this conflict between two worlds has its history for more than one thousand years. And the contest on politics, culture in history is the main reason of the Islamic image established by American media.Firstly, this article seeks backgrounds and reasons of the image from the history, culture and politics. Then, by the analysis of one hundred and forty reports of the famous news magazine TIME, this article tries to find out the theme of them, followed by the analysis about the image of the Islamic world formed by TIME. In addition, this article researches into behaves of American media in the Vietnam war, gulf war and Iraq war, where to learn lessons. Finally, this article advises to make efforts in the establishment of information-opening system, the avoidance of the civilization- clash concept and so on, to establish an objective and comprehensive image of other nations.
