This paper presents a new experimental teaching system. The paper puts the emphases on the research and the design for the system. The full works comprise the soft ware and hare ware designs of lower-computer, the layout of conventionality process control experiments, the study of two-way data communications between Fix and Matlab, and the design of fuzzy control experiment.The system is made of three pars: the physical model that was developed in the Process Control Graduate School of Tsinghua University, the 87C196KC Single-Chip Microcomputers, and the Personal Computer. The serial communication between lower-computer and master-computer is based on Modbus communication protocols with the RS-232 interface. The experiments are developed and organized by means of configuration software Fix7.0. In this system, more then twenty conventionality process control experiments are realized, which contained the Object-Properties Test, the Single Loop Control system, the Cascade Control system, the Forward Control system, the Forward-Feedback Control system and so on.In order to develop the function of this system, the paper brings forward a framework of experimental teaching system that is based on Fix-Visual C++-Matlab. In the process of two-way data communications between Fix and Matlab based on DDE technique, Visual C++ is used as DDE Server, Fix and Matlab are used as DDE Clients.It is a creationary work to bring forward a framework of experimental teaching system based on Fix-Visual C++-Matlab. And a fuzzy controller has been designed and a fuzzy experiments has been developed, which make the system opened and the system can be used in spread.The experimental teaching system has been applied in the teaching practice in Tsinghua University.
