Closed-Loop Control System of DC Motor is always a popular topic in industry, teaching and scientific researches. ZT-3 rotor test bed in Department of Mechanical Engineering in Southeast University is a DC motor centered open-loop control system, which speed is controlled by regulating the regulator manually. With corresponding equipments, ZT-3 is able to be used in some experiments related with measurement and control, vibration etc. In order to obtain a better effect during the experiment, a single-chip microcontroller (MCU) centered closed-loop control system with a new motor drive mode is studied in this paper. A fuzzy PID algorithm is introduced to optimize the control performance of the closed-loop system and the corresponding experiment and teaching software based on Labview is also developed for the measurement and control course.Based on the ADμC831, a 8051 compatible MCU integrated with 12-bit data acquisition system incorporating a high performance self calibrating multichannel ADC, DAC and PWM, and the expanded peripheral modules, such as rotating speed and armature current signal conditioning, PWM, communication interface and operating panel etc, the closed-loop control system with speed and armature current control is designed for work alone or work as a front controller controlled by a computer. The later work mode is particularly useful for constructing a computer centered experimental system. The hardware design and the debugging problems especial the PWM driving module are described in the thesis in detail.In addition, a fuzzy PID algorithm is introduced in the lower layer control software. The method for determining the membership functions and control rules of the fuzzy PID is expounded. The algorithm is applied in the rotor test bed system and the all control parameter can be modified by the experiment teaching software to compare the control performance.Finally,an Labview based upper layer experiment teaching software running on computer for the measuring and control engineering course is developed. The human-machine interfaces including speed waveform display and store, armature current monitoring, control parameter setting, experiment instruction and report generator are introduced in detail. With the application to the ZT-3 rotor test bed, it is shown that the system is work well and fit to the experiment requiement.
