Time-delay is an object property that is familiar and difficult to control in industrialproduction process. In order to overcome the delay’s effect , using internal model Smithpredictor combined with the fuzzy control method in this paper, the new controllerreplaces the traditional PID controller. We design the program of the improved fuzzySmith control method using SCX language, and experiment in the DCS control system.We create PID control, Smith control, IMC-Smith control and the improved fuzzySmith control simulation models in Matlab, and continuously adjust the controlparameters that affect control performance, and compare the effect when the model ismatching and mismatching.We make the JX-300XP DCS produced by Zhejiang SUPON Electronic TechnologyCo. as platform for secondary development, complete the system I/O configuration, thedefinition of control scheme configuration, the report configuration, and draw theflowchart, etc.,We design the program of the improved fuzzy Smith control method usingSCX language, experiment and debug in DCS. Solve several issues that exist in PIDcontrol in actual operation.Experiment results show that both in the Matlab simulation or in the practicalapplication of DCS, the new controller has better dynamic and static characteristics,robustness and interference rejection on large time delay system. This work has once againchanged the AE2000 process device which is limited to conventional PID control of thestate, and extends the JX-300XP system functions. The simulation and experimentalstudies have obtained good results.
