The distributed measurement and control system (DMCS) is migrating away from proprietary hardware and software platforms based on fieldbus in favor of open and standardized approaches. Wireless communication technology, Internet technology, and standardized transducer interfaces are serving to shape the next-generation DMCS landscape. This thesis discusses the design and implementation of standardized DMCS integration based on wireless communication technology ,Internet technology and the IEEE1451 family of standards, and establishes a prototype system. At first, the characters of traditional measurement and control system are discussed in detail. Then the thesis expounds the advantages and potential of wireless communication technology and Internet technology in application to DMCS contrastively aiming at the disadvantages of traditional measurement and control system, and proposes originally building the DMCS integration using GPRS, Internet technology and the IEEE1451 family of standards. Based on the analysis of function demands of the market for the measurement and control system, the thesis makes sure the function goals of the system, builds framework structure of the system, determines the application model of the system and the software architecture, which is the combination of the C/S structure and B/S structure.Interfacing smart sensors to all kinds of exiting networks is a critical problem. The development of IEEE1451 family of standards is a significant advance to solve this problem. After making an approach to the IEEE1451 family of standards in detail, the advantages and disadvantages of standards are separately analyzed. As an improvement to one portion of IEEE1451, the concept of wireless smart sensor based on TCP/IP protocols is promoted.Deriving the advantages from IEEE1451 set of standards, the conceptual model and the system framework of wireless smart sensor are proposed. The thesis expounds detailedly the design principles, technique approaches and developing process of the wireless smart sensor which is divided into two parts: STIM and WNCAP, and highlights the implementation of key technologies, such as TEDS,correction engine,multi-variable STIM,data transmission mechanism and embedded TCP/IP protocols. At last, the design and implement of the management software DRMC is discussed. DRMC is developed using Visual C++ 6.0 and MFC with the support of Windows OS. The mode that is the combination of multithreading and synchronous Winsock is adopted to realize multithreading data communication. The data records get managed effectively using DAO. By applying the concept of Software Integrated Chip (SIC), DRMC realizes the signal processing function, which is important to fault diagnosis.
