With the rapid development of network communication technology and computer hardware, all kinds of embedded device system swarmed into many application areas. This leaded to the traditional personal-computer central pattern transferred to embedded-device central pattern. There is a severe challenge in network management area as to these devices existed in current network. Therefore, a new network management technology is needed in this situation.Nowadays, Embedding web server (EWS) into embedded devices is a new technology to manage, control and configure them. This kind of web-based management method based on HTTP protocol provided a use-friendly and simple user interface to manage network devices. Meanwhile, this method lowered expense of the maintenance and teaching. Compared to traditional management model, it saved more time and cost. Therefore, researching and developing embedded web server has great significance. EWS is difficult to provide abundant management information compared to SNMP agent because of its limited ability Moreover, every company has its own web server that varied from each other that is disadvantage for standardization. A reasonable method to solve the problem is to put SNMP agent as a procedure of EWS. The EWS and SNMP agent have a certain communication interface to exchanging management information. Based on the conversion of SNMP and HTTP protocol, the user can access the device that embedded SNMP agent directly. In this paper, we presents architecture of EWS based on SNMP and web management. It will enforce the functions of network management and utilize the each part of advantages. We also develop a tool to generate web documents used in EWS to increase efficiency of network management.
