In this dissertation, the design motheds and realization about high speed real-time parallel signal processing system with multi-DSP based on ADSP21160 are studied deeply, and the beamforming algorithm which is applied to multi-target high-resolution estimation and acoustic communication. According to the technical demands, the design and debugging problems about how to realize the high speed real-time parallel signal processing system are specially studied. The system can process signal that are received from a sensor array through multi-channal synchronization sampling and data dividing. Aim at the different backgroud, different algorithms are applied to realize the high speed real-time information processing to realize multi-target high-resolution parameter estimation, multi-target tracking and acoustic communication. The experiments show that the parallel signal processing system has the perfect performance and achieve the technic design requirement.The main work and achievements are summarized as follows:1) The performance characteristic about ADSP21160 which belongs to the series of SHARC, and the basic characteristic of loose-coupling and close-coupling parallel signal processing systems that are made up of the multiple processors-ADSP21160, are analysed deeply, through the analysis to the beamforming theory that is used to multi-target high-resolution motheds and acoustic communication and to performance comparison with other DSPs. According to the requirement of technical demands and function realizing, a holistic project about high speed parallel signal processing system which is made up of 4 ADSP21160s is designed.2) Based on the hardware of high speed real-time parallel signal processing system with ADSP21160, the key techniques of loose-close-combined coupling parallel connecting mode and of interface connecting mode of ADC with multiple ADSP21160s, which belong to the function modules in high speed parallel signal processing system, are studied. At the same time, the each function module of the high speedparallel signal processing system is debugged. From the result we can see that the design of each function module of the high speed parallel signal processing system is satisfied with the technical demands.3) Software design and debug motheds and software developing flow are showed in this dissertation, which is based on the hardware of the parallel signal processing system with ADSP21160. In VisualDSP++ developing environment, the software of beamforming that is applied to multi-target high-resolution estimation and acoustic communication is developed with C/C++ program and inline assembly language. The test results show that, the various softwares developed in the VisualDSP++ developing environment, which is applied to the signal processing system of ADSP21160, can run independently and accurately, and satisfy the technic design requirement.4) The whole system, that is high speed real-time processing, based on ADSP21160 is debugged and tested. The results show that the high speed real-time parallel processing system is a high performance processing system with steady capability, accuracy, popularly-used, and is satisfied with experiments and the scientific research demands of multi-target high-resolution parameter estimation, multi-target tracking, and acoustic communication.Generally, in this dissertation, the high speed real-time parallel signal processing system with 4 ADSP21160s is designed systemically and developed. And the each module of hardware and software are debugged. From the test results we can see that the parallel signal processing system reach the technical design requirements.
