Network Based MIS For Large-Scale Forest Enterprise: Its Design And Realization

The development of Management Information System(MIS) for forest enterprise is one of the most important parts of national project -'digital forest', related technologies for developing the MIS are studied in this dissertation according to the realistic needs of large-scale forest enterprise. A concrete instance of the MIS developed for a forest enterprise in Fujian province, China is introduced. The system has complete function on forestry decision support and data processing. We take advantage of advanced developing tools such as BORLAND DELPHI and MICROSOFT SQL SERVER as well as Object Oriented Programming technology in our developing process.The main contents of this dissertation are organized as follows:1. Basic concepts of MIS and its application in forest enterprise are introduced.2. The whole design of the system is introduced, and the structure of system database and functions are discussed in detail.3. Common models used for wood growing estimation are introduced and their drawbacks are pointed out, two methods to resolve such drawbacks are given.4. The flow chart and developing steps for the subsystems involved in this MIS are presented.Finally, a conclusion on above works is given and future research directions are presented.
