With a sharp increase in the total of Internet users, a single telecom device is incapable to take the burthen of enormous tasks in hand. To deal with these tasks synchronously and effectively, to shake off the burthen from the device, and to prolong the life of the device, distributed strategy, a software technique, has been widely used in the telecom industry. Task distributed and burthen allotted as the result to be expected.Board management system focuses on the design and implementation of board management module and communication module. Based on consideration of Transparency and expansibility, the board management system shouldn't tell the difference between communications among boards and communications within a board to the application layer; and this system has to provide uniform interface for the application layer. Meanwhile, this system should provide the way how to detect and query the state of the hardware for the application layer, so that the application layer can decide how to distribute tasks among boards. To communication within a board, in current RTOS (Real Time Operating System) there are several divided tasks running concurrently, which communicate with each other. Communication among tasks uses the way of message queue and semaphore scheme.To communication among boards, this board management system uses a series of transmit protocols: IPC and VP protocol. IPC protocol (resemble TCP) provide credible transmit, realize slip-window, and provide the function of datagram partition and composition. This protocol has to send and accept datagram serially. VP protocol (resemble UDP) provide incredible transmit, not deal with this part on this article. Board management system functions a bridge between the application layer and operating system, and implements the maintenance of boards and ports statement, and can send the statement change message to application layer immediately. This board management system improves the application layer's transplant effectively.
