Networking data traffic is growing exponentially, more business and transactions and government affairs depend on network, consumers of network content are demanding reliable, continual access.People now expect network to be available and reliable. For service providers and network managers, there is no time when the network can be taken down for repairs or upgrades without interrupting customers. Many other areas, such as military commanding, aviation and control, they all require the controlling platform to be more and more reliable, with wider and wider data bandwidth. As a result, people urgently need a communication and control platform which is of high availability and high bandwidth. On the deeply analysis and compare the previous bus-computer's characteristics, this paper put forward that the High Availability (abbr. HA as follows) on bus-computer CompactPCI (abbr. CPCI, as follows) can be implemented through the technique of designing the system's embody mode of Hot Swap and Redundant CPU swap, and solve the system shut down trouble that causes because of various reasons. On the basis of core techniques, further research is maked on the core-control techniques on a Redundant system-solt CPCI HA 8-slots platform system. This paper also introduced the serial port and network communication in the redundant system-slot computer under the RealTime Operating System VxWorks. The emphasis is put on to solve the system address conflict within a net communication. The main application field of CPCI bus-computer is in the telecommunication, military etc. And have more and more wider application and the higher commercial value.
