| This paper discusses the subject " the development of TV announcing & hosting profession in the mainland of China during the past 45 years " .The thesis is directed by the dialectical materialism and the historical materialism and based on the author' s own experience as a professional announcer & hostess during the past 9 years. Focusing on the development of TV announcing & hosting profession in the mainland of China during the past 45 years, the thesis has five aspects of innovations, through independent thought and careful proof. Firstly, it applied the systemic research method to study TV announcing & hosting profession, to observe its development in the environmental system of given period and given TV media situation, so as to explore the relationship of synchronous counterpoints between the changes of TV media situation brought about by the social development of economy and culture and the profession of TV announcing & hosting. Secondly, it brings TV announcing profession and TV hosting profession into one system to be studied, which breaks through the long and widespread deviation of the two areas. The third, it advances the development of TV announcing & hosting profession for the near future. The forth, it puts forward new opinions aiming at some contemporary ones concerningTV announcing & hosting. For example, the definitions of announcing and hosting are redefined; emphasize on the artistic characteristics of TV announcing from 1958 till 1965; refute the opinion of Mr. Zhangsong that the announcing style of Major Critical Article is our precious experience; reconsider the previously accepted equation between the appearance of the name of host and the appearance of virtual host; focus on the aesthetic characteristics of show moderators and discuss the function of non-spoken symbols of TV announcing & hosting profession.The thesis consists of three chapters.Chapter 1 is the introduction. It introduces the course and methods of the study at the beginning. Then, the definitions of TV announcing and TV hosting are discussed, by the means of dynamic comparison and evaluation on the base of present definitions, until at last the definitions of the author was advanced.Chapter 2 is the stressing part of the thesis, which analyzes the regularity of TV announcing & hosting profession development in the mainland of China. The author originated the research model to divide the whole process into six periods, which are:1. The beginning stage of TV announcing profession in the mainland of China. (1958 ~ 1965): Some researchers equal the characteristics of TV announcing during this period with those during the period of Cultural Revolution, while the author refers that TV announcing profession differentiated itself by its exploration of art in the generally political situation, laying a foundation for the mimicked exchanging situation of TV announcing in the early part of the 1980s.2. The abnormal stage of TV announcing profession in the mainlandof China.
