"The auxiliary decision system for rescuing damage ships" is used by the Naval Rescue Troops when they rescue a damage ship with its hull broken. The system can help the engineer design the rescue plan with computer technology, and it also can provide scientific basis for the commander's decision, so it can raise the successful rate of rescue damage ships. To achieve this system, the important step is to build correct calculating models of the system.In this paper, the main calculating models tested on computer are derived based on relevant documents and material, and achievements in ship rescue theory. The models consist of damage stability calculating model, floating position calculating model, floating buoy position calculating model, length of steel cable calculating model, and calculating model of the strength of the damage cabin. The precision and reliability of these models tested with ship data and material of ship rescue projects are fit for rescue projects and this system. According to parameters of the models above, the structure of the database used in the system and the frame of the system are also designed in this paper. The main work in this paper lays a foundation of the programming of the system.
