Robot systems are more and more important in the industry and military fields nowadays with the development of science and technology, and so the robotic vision becomes more and more important. The research of robotic vision is a field filled with enormous unknown challenges and many problems need to be solved. On this condition the author has made some attempts in this field. The thesis presents the digital video signal collecting and processing system based on DSP (Digital Signal Processor) in detail. It expatiates mainly the design of the hardware and the programming of the software of the system. The function of the system is collecting the analog video data from a CCD and transforming it into digital signal and then processing it in response to practice need. The results is given to other devices such us robot. The thesis interprets each module of the system hardware in detail, and focuses on the realization of the interface of each hardware modules. In the hardware circuit TI Company's DSP is used for controller of signal collection and processor of digital signal. The video I/O module accomplishes the transformation of A/D and D/A of the video signal. The communication module transfers information between the video system and robot or other devices by CAN-bus. The logic function module accomplishes all the logic function of the system hardware by CPLD chip. The software is composed with two main parts - collecting and processing. The thesis shows us how the two parts of the software work and complete their functions and some flow chart would make us clearer.Besides the software and hardware design, the thesis also presents the transformation between analog and digital video signal, I2C-bus and CAN-bus.
