Research On Development Model Of MIS Based On Oracle

To aim at a series of problems in development of MIS, by comparing popular development models of MIS and applying the newest techniques of computer network, database and the distributed techniques of object-oriented, the idea that the B/S model is used to develop MIS under environment of Oracle is proposed and a general report system is developed under the model. The techniques of ActiveX, Oracle database and Pro*C/C++ is introduced in this paper. The ActiveX technique is a very advanced kind of DCOM technique, and the Oracle database is very popular relational database. The shortcoming of other models are overcame by applying Pro*C/C++ to develop MIS under B/S model and effectively combining ActiveX and Oracle database.Report system is very important part of MIS and important demand of users. Now there are a lot of tools of development report, such as Crystal Report of Seagate, Oracle Reports, and Excel. But there are many shortcomings in these tools, for example, some are short of generality and flexibility, some don't accord with habit of Chinese, some can't plug and play. General report system c is developed by applying ActiveX technique in this paper, then generality of report is realized by applying the fourth dynamic SQL of Pro*C/C++. The generality demand that the name of database, the name of table and the name of field can be dynamically selected, and the data can be dynamically got, and the format of report can be dynamically made. In the last, the general report system is placed on Web to be used by user. Practically, the general report system can effectively overcome the shortcoming of other report systems.
