Design And Implementation Of General Report Processing Tool

With the advent of big data, people have more requirements of business data. It is critical that transferring massive data information to the user effectively and timely. As a leading global information services provider Thomson Reuters launched a new generation of financial information terminal products named EIKON, it can provide comprehensive real-time and historical data containing energy, metals, agriculture, fixed income, foreign exchange and other financial market data. The traditional report data processing mode is single function mode, already hard to deal with heterogeneous data. We need to develop a new way to process report data.This paper presents a generic report processing way based on metadata. Files can be divided into many parts. The metadata model was designed by extracting the common part of original report files. Constituting the report template is no longer only a single fixed form, report templates are flexibility and diversity. General reporting tools have a three-tier architecture model, including data interface layer, business layer and data access layer processing, reducing the coupling of underlying database tables. The general reports processing tool Implements file import module, general data processing module, data storage module and data distribution module specific functions. In order to provide the report data to be used in other related modules of EIKON platform, data processed by the general report tool is converted into XML data, the XML Schema and heterogeneous data source conversion rules are designed, and XSLT is used to realize data conversion. Finally, the converted data are encapsulated in the application program interfaces by the general report processing tool and used for data presentation in the interface of EIKON platform.The general report processing tool designed in the paper is provided with the good effect in its actual application. It can process various data reports of different content and formats concurrently and provide various forms of report data. With the general report tool, the problem of heterogeneous data source conversion has been solved and the data processing efficiency has been promoted. Meanwhile, the report processing tool has good scalability and stability.
