Operational training of equipment is an important task in the institutions of the armed forces. Yet the operational training has always been restricted by the limited amount of real equipment that can be used in the training. Especially in the Academies of the armed forces there is very limited and even no new equipment that can be adopted in the training. If we adopt the simulators to solve the problem, we have the problems of long development period, great costs, the abrasion of equipment, hard maintenance and small number of the trainees etc.This paper has stated the methods of developing the Virtual Reality equipment platform, by adopting the idea of the reusable software components, the ways of OOP and the Virtual Reality technique designs. This platform can be used to create various Virtual Reality -equipment and therefore to realize the software simulation of the equipment, just like the production in factories. The Virtual Reality-equipment created by the platform has the characteristics of easy operation, uniform format, good reliability and high efficiency in programming. The Virtual Reality -equipment technology makes it possible to conduct the operational training for more trainees at the same time on different equipment by fully adopting the computer net wok. In this way, the operational training is more flexible and can be conducted at any time. Adopting the Virtual Reality -equipment can reach the same training effect, solving the problems of the abrasion of real equipment or simulators in the installation or in the trainings, putting forward a new path to the equipment training in military academies as well as a new fay to the daily training of various forces. By using the Java Applet technology, this platform is capable of creating two-dimension VR (Virtual Reality) equipment which takes the advantages of convenient reality, high reliability, expansibility, favorable effects as well as being able to adopting computer net work.As one of the important parts of the Virtual Reality-equipment training system, the successful research of the subject will serve great significance in the equipment teaching of the military institutions, and in the equipment operational training of the military forces.
