In this paper, a new virtual operation training system of the large complex equipment is created with many kinds of technology such as virtual reality, computer simulation, artificial intelligence etc, which provide operation training of large complex equipment a new approach and method.In this paper, the structure of the virtual operation training system of the large complex equipment, process modeling method, Agent-oriented design method, federation simulation flow are deeply studied. The general framework, multi-agent architecture and process modeling method based on OKDN(Operation Knowledge Description Net)of virtual operation training system of the large complex equipment are offered, and the simulation flow of the system is designed combined with scene simulation circle and HLA federation circle. The distributed virtual operation training system of certain missile is developed in the end of the paper with the use of the above technologies.The main contents involved in this paper are:1. Research on the general framework of HLA-based distributed operation training system of the large complex equipment. The task model and process model as well as the relation between them are firstly discussed, which points the train of thoughts of process modeling in the system. Then the structure of single operator virtual operation training system is studied to present the system's constitution. Based on the structure and constitution, the structure of the HLA-based large complex equipment virtual operation training system is further studied and the general mapping relation from HLA federation to virtual operation is put forward. At last, the agent-oriented design method of virtual operation training system is discussed and certain Agents are designed.2. Research on the process modeling method of virtual operation training system. Demand of operation process modeling is firstly analyzed, and then process modeling tool such as UML, PERT chart, Petri network and IDEF3 etc are studied. The thinking of by expanding Petri network function to put up operation training process model is proposed, and as a result, the advanced Petri network technology --Operation Knowledge Description Nets (OKDN)--is put forward.
