The equipment maintenance teaching for military is always bothered by many factors, such as the equipment is too cumbersome to teach, the cost of the equipment is high and the equipment's shortness for practice etc. And more, the investment for the real fixing training is large. Especially, the requirement of new equipments and exact facilities are very high. So they can not be dismantled and assembled for teaching in working statement. The training using real equipments wares and tears greatly, makes low benefit and costs long training time. For a long time, the training organizations in the military were searching for a more efficient training schema which can earn better training effect. From the usage of the wall maps of equipments and projection in last 80s, to the popularization of the video teaching in last 90s, every melioration of the training means contributes a lot to the training effect. But all of them have their own restrictions and thus can not make the training perfect. In the 21st century, with the fast development of the computer hardware, the visual reality (VR) technology has got a great progress. It is necessary to bring the VR technology to the application of teaching. The VR technology can bring maximum information in a particular time. It can also enhance the flexibility of training by its rich interactive ways, which makes the teaching easier and more efficient.Considering the real situation of the military, this paper discusses the design and development of the training system for 3D assembling of the equipments. It analyzes the requirement of the development of the system. It also introduces the character of the three-level C/S structure of the system, the constitution of the system, and the research of key technologies of the 3D operation of the equipments, the making and playing of the course wares, the management of the equipments and the design of the database.In the exordium, this paper introduces the current status and the prospect of the VR technology.
