Application Of OLAP On Telecommunication Business Analysis System

The rapid development and wide use of computer network and database technology have brought enterprise management into a new epoch. Involving the fiercely competing and diversified market economy, managers at different levels have to make their decisions in time and in place. Data warehouse is such a technology that helps the managers make their decisions. Among the data Warehouse system, the front tool faces users directly. Accordingly its validity, comprehensive capability and operation capability do great influence on the use and popularization of data warehouse.The front tool of data warehouse, OLAP (On-Line Analytical Process),is an advanced DSS (Decision Support System) tool, which is developing rapidly during the recent decades. With OLAP, users can make deep investigation of the business data, find the business tendency and abnormality, get important details and make better understanding of the rules of their business behaviors.Recently, OLAP has evolved a lot. But with the development of Internet/Intranet, the traditional OLAP system cannot meet the user's increasing need and exposes more and more shortages. This has affected the system's efficiency, transplantation and maintenance.Aimed at changing this situation, this paper designed and implemented a three-layer OLAP system based on relationship database. The system addresses one way to integrate the ROLAP technology and traditional report form function, and the way can manage the searches of the relational database to realize multidimensional data analysis and to deal with the execution of report form. This paper studies how to dynamically create Multi-cube structure using SQL language and ROLAP engine and to satisfy the report form and multidimensional analysis requirement of consumer by drive of user's analysis.For the sake of improving the scalability of this system, system integrates the advanced technology of distributed object, Web computing, OLAP and data warehouse, it realizes the three-layer structure based on intranet. Because the system given is based on intranet, managers at every level can enjoy the utility of data warehouse, and it is also convenient for the users in China.
