As the Ubiquitous/Pervasive Computing era emerges , Wireless Networked Sensors embodying sensors, micro-controller, processor and communication device will be widely used in Ubiquitous/Pervasive Computing fields. The Wireless Networked Sensors must have small physical size and low power consumption, support concurrency-intensive operation diversity in design and usage and Robust Operation. The key is the supporting by the system software managing and operating these devices. A tiny operating system is needed to solve this problem. This thesis presents the design of super tiny operating system ZUOS supporting wireless networked sensor based on the embedded operating system and the Ubiquitous/Pervasive Computing technology currently. First, it introduces the design concept according to the requirements of wireless networked sensor system. Secondly, it analyzes and designs the concurrency control model and component model used in ZUOS, specially pays attention to communication design, routing algorithm, media access control protocol and network security. Then, deeply studies the system programming language nesC. At last, applies the Wireless Networked Sensors techno ledge supported by ZUOS to current smart home system to improve its abilities. At first, this thesis introduces the Ubiquitous/Pervasive Computing influence on computer field, and then analyzes the development and applications of the conventional Wireless Sensor Network. After introducing the smart home, it point out the future of smart home must be supported by Wireless Networked Sensors technology. In chapter 2, it study the requirement of Wireless Networked Sensors, then analyzes and designs the super tiny operating system including concurrency control model, communication system, routing algorithm, media access control protocol and network security. In chapter 3, it study the current smarthome system, then design several Wireless Networked Sensors application to extend its functions. At last, it gives some conclusions and foresight.
