Virtual instrument is a substitute of routine instrument by ways of data collection card and software. The virtual instrument there is a kind of logical analyzer often used in experiment measure. Its main usage is to measure hardware signals on circuit board, and show to the users through various ways. It gives us very good data analysis interface.Hardware collection card used here is a USB 2.0 exterior equipment developed by myself. The best communicate speed of its general circuit is as high as 480Mbit/S, reaching its designing technical guideline. Because USE is a kind of equipment of Windows, and Windows 2000, including its seniors, have protection strategy to hardware resource, there must be a drive program of hardware access running on the kernel system level. Therefore, total virtual instrument includes the following parts: fixing parts, fixing parts program, system driving program, twists and turns showing program, and theory chart drawing program.Fixing parts are the signal collection hardware, which users could see from outer circuit board. It is subsequence data source, also is the object, which is controlled by software on PC port. Fixing part program is the software that directly controls the action of hardware, and running on the hardware. The hardware used here is Cy68013. It is a single chip, which has USB interface and 8015-kernel inside. System driving program is the system trust part running on the operation system kernel. And it is the interface between application program and hardware, controlling the data exchange. Twists and turns showing program shows the collected data through the set collection gateway. Users care most about this interface program. Theory chart drawing program is a tool for the use of drawing the theory diagram of the tested circuit board. So the user could directly look over the sample data from the theory diagram, not the circuit board. The most readablething is that the developing has imitated Foundation2.1.This paper has eight chapters, chapter one is summarize, introduce the conception of virtual instrument and the actuality of it. Chapter two to five introduce hardware design, firmware design, device driver design and USB device driver based WDM architecture, and all these are just the kernel of my design of hardware's part. Chapter six is whole system architecture of hardware system, Chapter seven is software development, Chapter eight is the summary of system design.
