Reader's Digest is one of the best marked American magazines. Every month it publishes 19 kinds of languages, 48 sorts of editions and gets to 127 countries and 100 million readers. How has a China image been shaped in its China-related Reports , and is there any difference with other American media? What can we learn from these reports ? Last year is the 80th anniversary of Reader's Digest, so I studied 17 China-related Reports in Asia Edition of 2002 with content-analyzed method.Through the 17 stories we can learn that the amount of China-related reports increases much more than before , its field of vision becomes more opening and its attitude turns to more objective. However, there are some international prejudice in these contents. We have to take it seriously and model a well image of China in view of the great influence of the main media of America. An efficient way of a favorable national figure is to do better in external communication , in which we can use for reference the humanism theory and the report- balanced skills of the Reader's Digest.
