E-Manufacturing, a kind of manufacturing pattern which can organize the mutually supplementary manufacturing resources to meet customized market demands rapidly and provide high quality service, is featured with digital, agility and flexibility. These features of E-Manufacturing behave with rapid re-engineering in structure, rapid response in performance, concurrent processing and distributed decision-making and enterprise application integration. In order to share the information or resources, integrate and cooperate among different enterprises' application systems, it is essential to exchange the manufacturing information in the distributed and heterogeneous computer application environment. Therefore, the research of manufacturing information exchange pattern and its implementation technologies is the foundation to realize E-Manufacturing. And it holds an important position in the research of E-Manufacturing. Firstly, based on the real situation of the Chinese manufacturing industry, the state of the art of advanced patterns in E-Manufacturing and related technologies are analyzed. A manufacturing information exchange pattern, which can support the enterprise application integration in the distributed and heterogeneous computer application environment, is put forward. Then, the general model of manufacturing information exchange pattern in E-Manufacturing is set up to realize the semantic and program codes interaction among different enterprises' information systems and ensure the security and reliability in exchanging manufacturing information. At the same time, the research of distributed object integration model, manufacturing information conversion pattern, manufacturing information transportation pattern and the error handling mechanisms, which constitute the manufacturing information exchange pattern, is conducted from the three aspects: solved problem, fundamental support technologies and solution. Secondly, on the basis of the former research and the functional and technical requirements of E-Manufacturing Platform, which is a kind of realization carrier of E-Manufacturing, a general implementation technologies frame of manufacturing information exchange pattern which suits to the E-Manufacturing Platform is brought forward. On the guidance of the frame, the manufacturing information transportationprotocol and manufacturing information conversion protocol in E-Manufacturing Platform is proposed by uniting the XML and SOAP specifications. Based on the two protocols, several important and difficult implementation troubles and their solutions are researched. By applying XML implementation, SOAP implementation, and J2EE software technologies, a support system has been built up to implement the manufacturing information exchange in E-Manufacturing Platform.Finally, based on the 10th Five-Year national key technologies R&D program, E-Manufacturing Platform(2001BA201A06), the application case in Jiangjin Turbocharger Plant proves the rationality and feasibility of manufacturing information exchange pattern and its implementation technologies in E-Manufacturing.
